KATHMANDU, Nov 16: The Tribhuvan Universiy (TU) has hiked admission and monthly fees in all its colleges by 10 times.

According to the new rates endorsed by the Academic Council of the university, students will have to pay Rs 150 for admission as against the existing Rs 50 in bachelor´s level. Likewise, they will have to pay Rs 500 for admission in master´s level against the existing Rs 50.

Students will have to pay Rs 6,550 per year in the bachelor´s level and Rs 10,300 in the master´s level from the next academic year.

The university has however not increased the fees for the intermediate level as it plans to phase it out.
