Tashi Dong accumulated 40 stableford points to win the final series and also lifted the title of the Carlsberg Golf Series nett section. The four-handicap golfer scored five birdies on holes three, four, five, 10 and 16 against bogies on 12th, 17th, 18th and double-bogey on seventh holes to score 40 points.Hridesh Singh won the gross title on the series after scoring 35 gross points. His score card included an eagle on par-5 12th hole, birdies on fifth, eighth, and 10th holes. He made bogies on 7th, 15th, 17th, and 18th holes. He added a double bogey on 16th hole.
Leaders of gross sections, Capt. Norbu Sherpa faltered whereas Tashi Tsering was absent from the final event. Hridesh also lifted the gross winner prize for the final series.
Niranjan Sharma finished second on the nett with 38 points on the count back after being tied with Nirmal Dahal. Niranjan scored 21 on the front and 17 on the back whereas Nirmal scored 24 on the front and 14 on the back.
Ang Tshring Sherpa was runner-up in gross section of the final series with 31 gross points on the count back with Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi. Sherpa scored 13 on the front and 18 on the back. Nischaya scored 16 on the front and 15 on the back nine.
U Jin Shim won the ladies title in the final series with 27 points, Rekha Ghimire was second with 26 points. Lobsang Tenzing was the best senior golfer with 32 points. Tashi Dong also bagged 'closest to the pin' award. Capt. Norbu Sherpa got the longest drive and SSP Rajendra Shrestha got the most birdies with three birdies on the count back.
A total of 91 players participated in the final event. The event sponsored by Gorkha Brewery Pvt Ltd was played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap. The brewery's managing director, Philip Norley, Marketing Head Baibhav Sharma, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
