"Among the registered voters, 90,139 are women and 73,533 are men," said Kirtan Raj Paudel, chief of Tanhu Election Office.

"Voter numbers have decreased as most local youths have left the district or even the country in search of work, and some others have deliberately not registered," said Paudel, adding, "According to the Central Bureau of Statistics report of 2011, the total number of people in the district stands at 323,288, out of which 46,386 are away on foregin employment."
