Niraj Gautam, 24, of Syuchatar-7 was killed when a motorcycle hit the scooter (Ba 17 Pa 1284) he was riding yesterday. The fatally injured pillion rider in the scooter, Subodh Gautam, 24, is currently undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital.
The locals have accused police of delaying the arrest of the motorcycle-borne person citing lack of evidence.
They have also demanded strict action against the guilty and suitable compensation to the bereaved family.
Three persons have been detained in connection with the case, informed the Kalimati Metropolitan Police Circle.
