A meeting between the government and students unions on Monday evening could not make headway as the both the team remained adamant on their stances.
The government made it clear that it would not scrap price hike decision.
Minister for Commerce and Supplies Lekhraj Bhatta on Tuesday afternoon ruled out any possibilities to review recently hiked price of petroleum products but made it clear that the government was planning to come up with subsidies to the students on petroleum products.
