Strike called off in eastern Nepal

BHADRAPUR, Jan 12: Vehicular movement has resumed in eastern Nepal from Thursday morning after Eastern Tharuwan Koch Joint Struggle Committee called off its protest programmes.



The Committee had announced vehicular disruption in the eastern region fro three days from January 11 demanding that Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Siraha and Udayapur districts in the eastern region be declared Tharuwan Koch State and 15,000 youths belonging to indigenous nationalities be inducted to national army.



Following the government´s official call for dialogue, Jhapa district coordinator of the Committee, Ganga Rajbamshi publicly informed that all the agitation programmes the Committee announced earlier has been called off.
