National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista said that Nepali people got the new constitution as per their aspiration and the constitution has fulfilled their desire of writing their own constitution since the last six decades."I am confident that the constitution will bring an end to the political transition. I wish the country will get permanent peace and everyone will join hands for development," said Bista in a press statement issued on Sunday.
He also added that the demands of the Madhes-based political parties should be addresses.
"It would have been even better if the demands of the Madhes-based parties had been addressed," said Bista.
Similarly, national football team skipper Sagar Thapa, who is also the skipper of Three Star Club, was quite happy as the new constitution was promulgated on Sunday. Sagar said that hiss happiness knew no bounds with the promulgation of the new constitution.
"I feel more happy than the Dashain festival," said Sagar, who expected that the new constitution will open the door for development in the country.
"I hope the country will move in the right track for development and provide a sense of security among all Nepalis," added Sagar.
Former taekwondo player Sangina Baidya - the first Nepali player to get a seat for the Olympics through competitive selection - said that the long wait of Nepali the people is finally over.
"Finally the long wait is over as the constitution got promulgated. However, everyone should have been included in the process. The demands of the people of Madhes should be get address," said Sangina, adding that she hoped the constitution will create an environment of peace and bring happiness among the people in future.
