Nitesh Yadav from North Point School stood second while Rajan Thapa from Zenith School finished third. In girls´ section, Bishekha Jaiswal of Deep Jyoti won the title. Purnima Jaiswal from the same school had equal four points with Bishekha but later advanced ahead based on progressive points. Deep Jyoti´s Bina Jaiswal finished third. In the teachers´ section, Robin Sunar from St George School won the title.
Whitehouse, Xavier win
Whitehouse and Xavier International won their respective matches of the girls´ category on Thursday in the Kirtipur Mahotsav Cup Open Women´s and Men´s Basketball tournament. Whitehouse defeated Nakhipot Youth Club 35-30 after Mrinalini Shrestha scored 13 points. Likewise, Xavier thrashed Rara Hill 33-17 on the Kirtipur Basketball Court. Sima Karki scored 13 points for the winners.
Two basketball tourneys from Friday
Two basketball tournaments are to kick off in the capital from Friday. Innovative English School is organizing First Innovative Inter-school Basketball Tournament including senior boys, junior boys and senior girls´ categories. According to the host school, 11 teams are competing in the senior boys´ category while junior boys´ section will feature 10 teams. There will be five teams in girls´ competition. Likewise, Greenland School, Dhapashi is organizing the Fifth Kwiks Greenland Inter-school Basketball Tournament under the sponsorship of Kwicks Cheaseballs. According to the host school, 20 teams will compete in junior boys´ category while 16 teams will contest for the title of senior boys´ class.
