SP gears up for poll alliance

KATHMANDU: Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhavana Party (SP) has formed a five-member team to hold talks with Madhes-based parties to seek seat adjustment in the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.



“The talks will be led by party Co-chairman Laxman Lal Karn,” reads the press statement issued by the party. The statement further said that they would hold talks with all the Madhesi parties that share their agendas. [break]



“We are open to forging electoral adjustment with any like-minded Madhesi party,” SP General Secretary Manish Suman told Republica. Suman further said that they were taking initiatives to create an environment for the Madhesi parties to jointly contest the polls.



“The talks-team may also take initiatives for unification with like-minded Madhesi party,” said Central Committee (CC) member Upendra Mahato. He added that they expect all the Madhesi forces with common agenda to jointly contest the polls.
