Solidarity to Christian's demands

KATHMANDU, April 12: Leaders of various political parties and human rights activists have expressed their solidarity to the demands of Nepali Christian community, who have been staging relay sit-in in Ratnapark for the past 21 days demanding grave yard for cremation.



CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli said all religious people have freedom to perform all rites and rituals as per their religion and culture. [break]



Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sujata Koirala said the state should make necessary arrangement of yard and environment as well for any religious people having born in Nepal to perform their rites and rituals, pledging that her party will entirely support the move.



Unified CPN (Maoist) leader Ram Karki said the State should manage every citizen´s rites of cremation as per their aspiration and expressed commitment to draw the government´s attention to the issue.



On the occasion, human rights defenders Daman Nath Dhungana and Charan Prasain expressed grief for the state not heeding the demands of Christian religious community.
