Shree Gurung, Director of Party Nepal, an event management company, doesn’t leave home without his laptop and prized camera besides his phone, the Nokia E72 he’s been using for the past three years.

A film studies graduate from Rai Foundation in Bangalore, Gurung is passionate about music and movies.[break]

“Gadgets like phones, music players and notebooks have become necessities nowadays. You can live without food but not without your phone,” jokes Gurung while closing the multiple windows that litters the home screen of his glistening red Samsung laptop.

We live in a world ruled by electronics. We usually feel lost if we don’t have our mobile phone with us and not a day goes by without checking our emails or watching a movie on our laptops, and the same holds true for Gurung who starts his day at eight in the morning by checking his emails on his laptop.

After reaching office at 9:30am, he spends an hour on Facebook till it’s time for the daily meeting. Gadgets are an enormous part of this young lad’s life, as every waking minute is spent on his phone, laptop, or using his camera.

“I party a lot, so it’s safe to say that the Samsung handycams and the Canon DSLR are equally important as my phone and laptop. Everybody needs a phone and a laptop these days but I would rather choose the video camera and my DSLR over them any day,” says Gurung with a shy smile that seems to be his trademark.

A self-proclaimed camera freak, his wish list comprises the newly launched Canon EOS 5D Mark III and its accessories. Gurung is sensible about his purchases though and doesn’t splurge on gadgets without considering their affordability and durability aspects.

All his buys have been thought through and have left him completely content with the investments.

Samsung RC 420

Having switched to Samsung from Lenovo just six months back, Gurung is satisfied with his latest purchase. Encased in a sleek and stylish matt casing is the 14-inch RC420, which is powered by the Intel Core i5 processor. The six-cell battery, 1.3 megapixel camera and 640 GB storage make it an ideal laptop for those on the run.

Nokia E72

Nokia phones are known for being strong and durable which is why Gurung invested in the E72. The phone features a sleek business-like design, sporting a BlackBerry-style full QWERTY keyboard across its wide body.

An eye-catching chrome trim complements the classically understated bodywork that’s aimed squarely at serious business users. It also has an optical trackpad within the navigation D-pad, so even light-finger action can initiate movement on the screen.

Samsung HMX-H300

Gurung has numerous handycams and they are all by Samsung. The HMX-H300 series is designed to give you the very best in Samsung technology within an easy-to-use durable product that offers excellent value, long battery life, a 3” touch screen LCD, and excellent picture quality.

The HMX-H300 series is designed to automatically deliver stable video in crystal-clear HD, allowing you to enjoy the moment without worrying about correcting settings or focusing.

With its long recording time, the camcorder also allows the user to relax when filming, as it is guaranteed to be able to capture every special occasion from start to finish.

Reddo mini projector

Gifted by his brother who lives in Hong Kong, this tiny projector is Gurung’s favorite gadget. It’s his portable home theatre system as well as a device he uses often during presentations.

Pico Projectors, also known as handheld projectors, are companion products for portable devices such as cameras, mobile phones and tablets. They provide convenient ways to quickly project the contents of these devices onto any surface like walls, notebooks and even an airplane food tray.

Kenwood Walkie Talkie

By the way Gurung starts polishing this pair of Walkie Talkie, you can tell how affectionate he is about them. He uses them during events and finds that walkie talkies make communication during functions that require a lot of coordinating easy and hassle-free.

He advises everybody, especially those in the event management business, to invest in one.

Canon EOS 7D

Being in a field that requires him to carry a camera wherever he goes, Gurung is in love with the Canon EOS 7D. With a deeply sculpted handgrip and a prominent thumb rest on the front and the rear of the camera, the equipment resembles the Canon 50D in terms of size and 5D Mark II in weight.

The camera is built around a new 18MP sensor and an impressive 100% coverage viewfinder.
