Search for Pyuthan attackers gathers momentum

NEPALGUNJ, Feb 8: Security personnel have intensified the search for individuals who attacked the Syaulibang Police Post on Friday night and looted weapons.



Nine teams of civil and armed police have been undertaking the search by sealing off four districts, said Deputy Inspector General Madan Bahadur Khadka, the Mid-western Regional Police chief.



A security base camp under the command of Deputy Superintendent Madhav Shrestha has been set up in Syaulibang and a team under the command of a police Inspector is undertaking a search operation in Pyuthan.



Search is also being conducted in Rolpa and Baglung districts. There are 160 civil police and 100 armed police personnel involved in the search operation.



No one has been arrested so far.



The body of Suman GC, the sole police personnel killed in the attack, was airlifted to the district headquarters on Saturday and handed over to family members on Sunday, said Chief District Officer Krishna Syham Budathoki.
