This is to be launched to give children clean environment in schools and not only in the homes, said Chief of Health Office Raj Kumar Pokhrel.
The program is launched in 33 districts after the model program run four years ago in Syangja and Sindhupalchok districts was effective, the Ministry of Health and Population said.
Under the program, nutrition will be expanded to child as well as to parents and community. Regular deworming medicines and vitamin will be provided to children and health will be checked by forming child clubs in schools.
Training has been already given to resource persons of the District Education Office, staffs, school inspectors and District Health Office staff.
After the training, trainers will orient school headmasters, said ministry´s Nutrition Program Focal Person Mahendra Prakash Sharma.
The program will be run under the JICA cooperation and is expected to improve health conditions of children.
