Arguing that the government has promoted Aryal, who is junior to her in education and experience, DIG Thapa had filed a writ petition at the SC seeking stay order on his promotion.
A single bench of Justice Tarka Raj Bhatta today has directed the government to furnish sufficient reasons for the promotion of Aryal.
The government, however, claims that it had promoted Aryal to the post of AIG based on seniority. With all the AIGs including IG Kuber Singh Rana retiring on November 15, the government had jacked up Aryal to the vacant post of AIG on October 31.
