The money was collected through contribution from the college, and Nepalis living in the UK. Amrit had gone to the UK around two and a half years ago.

"My son flew to the UK for further studies with a Rs 1.2 million loan. We did not have any source to pay back the loan. Now I will pay back with the help of the relief money," Surat Bahadur said.

According to Amrit´s matarnal uncle Dambar Bahadur Gharti Chhetri, the family was not able to bring Amrit´s body to Nepal to give a proper funeral in the lack of money. His last rites were performed in the UK itself with the help of Nepalis living in UK, Chhetri informed.
