“Though the districts having proper irrigation facilities are reporting rapid progress in transplanting, some monsoon dependent districts in the region are seeing slow progress,” said Acharya releasing a fresh report on rice transplanting, on Sunday.
Officials have predicted that rice production will reduce y around 30 percent if there is less rainfall in the coming days.
According to Dev Raj Bhusal, an official of the Agriculture Regional Directorate in the Midwestern Region, transplanting in the tarai, hills and high mountains is 40 percent, 59 percent and 84 percent complete respectively.
Jumla reported highest 97 percent transplanting whereas Dang reported lowest at 28 percent transplanting complete so far.
