Rana from Rupandehi won the title of the women´s 10 m air rifle event while Sunsari´s Shrestha clinched the title of men´s 10 m air rifle in the finals held at the Satdobato Shooting Range, Lalitpur.[break]
Rana scored 480 points in the four-day event to finish first out of 14 participants. Phoolmaya Kyapchaki of Nepal Police finished second with a score of 476 while Durga Sinjali secured the third position scoring 468 points.
In the men´s section, Shrestha top scored 657 points ahead of Nepal Army´s Krishna Ghorasaini, who finished second with 652 points. Hari Bahadur Thapa of Nepal Police settled for the third position with 644 points. Altogether 20 shooters had competed in the event.
Likewise, Kuber KC of Nepal Army claimed gold in the men´s 10 m air pistol event. KC finished first out of 21 shooters scoring a total of 640 points. His club-mate Sudan Khadka finished second with 639 points while Bivek Raj Dhungel of Dhanusha was a distant third with 624 points.
In the women´s 10 m air pistol event, Saraswati Bania (439 points) of Nepal Police, Shreya KC (438) of Baglung and Seema Tuladhar (433) of Nepal Police secured the top three positions respectively. Altogether 11 shooters had competed in the event.
The top three position holders of each of the four events received Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
