Prez calls for consensus before India visit

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Prior to his formal six-day visit to India Monday, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has called upon the political parties to forge consensus by the time he returns home.



The president made the call in a written statement during his meeting with leaders of the political parties representing in the dissolved Constituent Assembly, at his office in Shital Niwas this morning. [break]



He has also asked the parties to work cohesively to safeguard the institution of democratic republic in the country. Likewise, he has mentioned about issues, including timely elections, in his statement.
