President Dr Yadav left by an Indian Airlines aircraft flight IC 748 at 4:05 pm on Thursday.[break]
Vice-President Parmananda Jha and Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal saw off President Yadav at the VVIP Lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Ministers, security chiefs and government dignitaries had reached the airport to see off the President.
The President´s entourage comprises his daughter Anita Yadav, Minister for Federal Affairs, Constituent Assembly and Culture Dr Minendra Rijal, Secretary at the President´s Office Baman Prasad Neupane, Foreign Secretary Dr Madan Kumar Bhattarai, Chief of Protocal Mukti Nath Bhatta, and President´s political advisor Hari Sharma, among other dignitaries.
President Dr Yadav will attend the founding anniversary of Kolkata Medical College on January 28 as Chief Guest. The President is a former student of the College.
The Governor of West Bengal will host a dinner in honour of the President tomorrow.
Similarly, he is scheduled to visit Tirupati, south India on January 29. Following the Tirupati visit, he will leave for New Delhi on Monday.
President Dr Yadav is scheduled to attend a dinner to be hosted by his Indian counterpart Pratibha Devisingh Patil on his honour.
During his stay in New Delhi, Vice-President of India Mohamad Hamid Ansari, Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Minister of External Affairs SM Krishna, and Ministers of Finance, Defense, Home Affairs and leader of the opposition party will pay a courtesy call on President Dr Yadav.
Then he will attend a convocation ceremony of the Chandigarh-based Post Graduate Institute of Medical and Research as a Chief Guest. President Dr Yadav had done his MD in 1984/85 from the very Inistitute.
President Dr Yadav is scheduled to return home on February 5.
