It was hosted at Picasso Artiste de la Cuisine in Jhamsikhel, and also marked the introduction of the new event management/music company called Gramo Music & Entertainment Pvt Ltd.[break]
A student of classical music from the Prayag Sangeet Samit in Allahabad of India, Prakash’s album boasts eight songs, composed by musician Nhyoo Bajracharya who was also one of the chief guests along with veteran singer Prem Dhoj Pradhan, ace lyricist Durga Lal Shrestha, and esteemed musician Deepak Jangam.
The songs depicting positive outlooks on life and romance have been penned by Shrestha and Sabbu Sayam.
Praising Prakash’s work, composer Bajracharya said, “We go a long way back and I remember him presenting a recording of a song which I thought was not at par, and I had bluntly said so. I’m happy that he took the criticism constructively and has since then honed his craft. The hard work shows in Saras.”
Talking about the newly launched Gramo Music & Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Bhupendra Khadka, one of the founders of the company, shared, “To be honest, this project was an eye opener. No name calling here, but we realized that music companies have been ripping money off unsuspecting artistes. We want to provide the same facilities but minus the extortion.”
Stating their main priority as event management, Khadka added, “If there’s an act that’s worthy of our time and money, we’ll definitely back it.”
Speaking at the launch, lyricist Shrestha revealed that Prakash’s own father was also a good singer back in his heydays, and in a way he was reliving his dream through his son’s endeavors.
He added, “Nhyoo is a very picky composer, and to get his approval and an album boasting his music is a compliment in itself.”
A humbled Prakash expressed his gratitude and acknowledged the support of his family and friends.
The singer performed two of his songs, including “Anakhabhari ansu rakhi” and the music video of which was also premiered at the event.
