Police officer killed in road mishap

DHADING, May 5: A police officer was killed in a mishap in Galchi Chowk of Baireni-8, along the Prithvi Highway, in Dhading.



Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Pahalman Shakya of Kalleri of the district was killed after being hit by a UN vehicle that got hurled onto him when a trailer carrying it turned turtle on the road.



Shakya was on duty at nearby police post, when the mishap happened. The trailer, with an Indian license plate (NL 01 K 0164), overturned due to brakes failure.



Milan Shrestha, a local, has been severely injured in the accident.
