Police arrest three fake traffic cops

MAHENDRANAGAR, Aug 5: Police have arrested three thugs who, posing as traffic police personnel, had been obstructing local transport and had been extorting money from vehicles along the East-West Highway.



Police caught Lalit Bohara, Kumbha Rana and Kirta Rana from Daiji-Champhapur section of the highway. Two of their accomplices managed to flee.



Harka Rawal, Superintendent of Armed Police Force at Shaileshwari Battalion said the thugs have been handed over to Area Police Office, Jhalari, from where they were handed over to the District Police Office on Tuesday.



They were arrested after they tried extorting money even from an Armed Police Force vehicle on Monday night.
