In the matches played at the Gauritar Stadium in Hetauda, Makawanpur, Army ran away 11-0 winner over Dhankuta and Police thumped Rautahat 5-1. Likewise, APF thrashed Panchthar 16-0 at the Kirtipur ground in Sunawal, Nawalparasi. [break]
The three teams play their quarterfinal matches on Tuesday. Army faces Kathmandu and Police takes on Dhanusha at Gauritar. Similarly, APF and Morang vie for a semifinal spot at Kirtipur.
Krishna Khatri scored four goals for Army, studded with four Nepali internationals, in its rout of Dhankuta. Khatri netted in the 7th, 28th, 49th and 51st minutes. Deepa Adhikari and Deepa Neupane both scored a brace while Deepa Rai, Sapana Lama and Indira Rai netted one each.
Niru Thapa and Chandra Bhandari scored two goals each in Police’s win over Rautahat after Yashoda Lama had opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Manju Dong pulled one back for Rautahat.
In Sunawal, Sajana Lama completed a double hat-trick as APF hammered Panchthar for the biggest victory of the tournament. Lama netted in the 8th, 11th, 26th, 29th, 64th and 71st minute. Besides her, Laxmi Paudel netted four goals while Anu Lama and Pramila Rai struck twice for APF. Ranjana Darji was also on the scoresheet. Amrita Limbu scored an own goal in the second half to compound Panchthar’s misery.
