Issuing a press statement, NTB said the main objective of the sales mission was to promote Pokhara as tourism capital along with the surrounding tourist destinations among the border town under ´Chalo Pokhara´ campaign.[break]
The sales mission included 12 private sector companies, media persons and officials of NTB.
Under the campaign, the hoteliers have announced 30 percent discount on packages and 10 percent discount on food till September.
“Programs in all three cities started with Business to Business session among the Nepali and Indian travel trade followed by media briefing,” the statement said.
While addressing local media, officials highlighted tourism destinations and facilities available in Nepal along with Visit Lumbini Year 2012 campaign.
Free visa regime and open border entry facility are the biggest attractions for Indian visitors in Nepal. Indian visitors account for more than a quarter of total tourist arrivals in Nepal.
