PM, Dahal discuss security

KATHMANDU, March 29: Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal and Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal met Tuesday and discussed the latest security and political situation.



At the meeting held at Baluwatar, they stressed for taking an effective stop to control murder, violence and blasts in several parts of the country. [break]



Maoist leader Dev Gurung, who was also present in the meeting, said the discussion focused on new budget that the government is bringing soon and increasing insecurity in some districts.



Even though the meeting discussed giving full shape to the government by taking other parties into confidence, no conclusion to this effect was reached, he said.



On a query of reporters, Gurung said the Unified (Maoist) is still wants the Home Ministry portfolio lead by the party and informed that the issue of Home portfolio might be finalised once the government gets full shape.



Prime Minister´s Press Advisor Surya Thapa said the two leaders dwelt on budget preparation, government expansion and security issue.



Besides Dahal and Gurung, Maoist Vice Chairman Mohan Baidhya and Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara were also present.
