In his brief remarks to media persons upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport after a five-day official visit to India, President Dr Yadav stressed the need for consensus among parties without delay. [break]"There were both formal and informal meetings during the visit. They [India] are not supposed to recommend solution to our problem [political deadlock]. We should be able to resolve the problem on our own," he said.
The president said political parties themselves should be able to forge consensus to resolve the deadlock that started after CA dissolution on May 27.
The remarks by the head of state came when his sixth deadline to the parties for forming a national consensus government expired Saturday. While issuing the deadline last Monday, the president had hoped that the parties would reach consensus by the time he returned home from India.
