PARASI, Dec 26: A parliamentary team including border experts has arrived in Susta, Nawalparasi, Saturday today to collect locals´ suggestions to resolve the border issue. [break]

The 20-member team under the leadership of Constituent Assembly member Padma Lal BK is scheduled to observe the sites and inquire into the locals´ problem. Border expert Buddhi Narayan Shrestha is also in the team.

On the occasion, people of Susta suggested forming a commission comprising representatives from Nepal and India to resolve the border issue of Susta. Locals said Susta problem has been complicated after the government failed to provide exact statistics of encroached land from the Indian side. They said the commission was also required for finding real statistics of the encroached land.

The locals suggested the team to go to the International Court of Justice after approving the bill from the House if India was reluctant to resolve the Susta problem. They complained that Susta dwellers were tortured by the Indian Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) while going across the border for taking services.

Similarly, locals have demanded facilities on education, health services, drinking water, and bridge over the Narayani River.
