“We will not hasitate to give the leadership (of consensus government) to Nepali Congress if the issues are agreed in a package with condition,” the party’s Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha said after the meeting.
Earlier in the morning, NC office bearers’ meeting tipped party President Sushil Koirala as the party’s prime ministerial candidate. Its central working committee meeting is underway to endorse the decision.
The Maoist party are scheduled to put forth its condition during a three-party meeting due later today. Only one day is now remaining before the extended time-frame set by President Ram Baran Yadav for the parties to recommend a PM candidate to lead consensus government, expires.
