“We provide students with the opportunity to interact with the university authorities. As representatives, we only have limited knowledge and we believe that the authorities will be able to answer all the queries of the students. In the Expo, we have good universities that students can select from and decide on where they want to study,” said Subash Gauchan, Business Operations Manager, Pac Asia.
According to Gauchan, the participating students are entitled to a waiver of the admission fee, and various scholarships are also available for deserving students.
Representatives from six Australian universities were present in the expo while San Jose State University from the United States of America also had its representatives. The six Australian universities were Bond University, Macquarie University, Deakin University, University of Technology Sydney, University of Tasmania and Monash University.
Sandeep Adhikari, 19, attended the expo with his friends. Interested to study in the US, he said he was disappointed to learn that there was no scholarship available for him at San Jose State University. “Despite the admission fee waiver, the tuition fee is expensive. One of my friends is doing the rounds of the Australian universities, and I’ll see if there’s anything interesting there,” he said.
