Beware. It can cast a pall of gloom

Overreaction to a situation is a manifest behavior of paucity of thinking—a sort of instinctive reflex action. It is characterized by excitability, nervousness or plain irritability. Only after the effect has worn off will the person in question regain his beleaguered senses.

At first excitement comes to a boil whenever normal reaction does not take place. The one exhibiting such a behavior suffers momentary lapses. After the initial phase is over he may decide to go ahead by sheer force of will. At this stage exhaustion sets in and no further action is possible.

If there is no quick resolution of the problem it could develop into a show of nervousness. There is sure to be hesitation in this regard, which comes as a surprise. Perhaps this is a meeting point of the fear of the unknown and a spell of moodiness.

Irritability also has its own place and is an aspect of how human beings evolved over the ages. There should be no monkeying around with irritation because an excess of it could lead to a case of nerves. There is not much one can do to ease such an untoward condition. Allowing for a semblance of stability to return is advisable and saves a lot of bother and undue stress.

Overreacting can cast a pall of gloom if one does not return to normalcy quickly. Much of it is tied down to not being able to figure out what matters most. Thus heated debates and arguments are example of how quickly it can get out of control. Regaining one’s poise and manner are called for when this happens.

It must be noted that overreacting could prove to be quirky at the start. Thus it is necessary to forgo overdoing things and instead consider how to tackle the situation without confrontation. For after all there is bound to be expectations of the best laid plans which can go awry—that is justified to an extent and recommended.

On most of the occasions one is not aware of how difficult an ongoing process can be given the dire straits. So it is worthwhile to resolve any doubts before it complicates matters. Allowing for a niggling suspicion a free hand may not be worth the trouble or headache. Anything that lets the sentiments to gain the upper hand may well lead to a possible breakdown of the existing order.

Since it is right to rein in the emotion before they turn nasty it could be a pointer to how much harm it can do. Not once or twice but several times over leaving one perplexed and ill at ease. Gaining control sets the stage for niceties to usurp, prefigure and serve as an option.

Managing an outburst means playing the matter close to oneself and proves to be worth every effort. So that the specifics of the issue are dealt with before deciding on what to do next.
