Ordinance on Judicial Council recommended to president

KATHMANDU, Dec. 6: The Government has presented the Ordinance designed to amend the Judicial Council Act, 2047 BS to the President.



The Ordinance was presented before the President by Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, who also holds the portfolio of Ministry of Law, at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas, on Thursday.



The Ordinance related to the Judicial Council is currently under the process of study, said the President´s Press advisor, Rajendra Dahal.



A decision on it would be taken only after a thorough study of it as necessary procedures have to be fulfilled from the constitutional and judicial perspective, Dahal told RSS.



Earlier the Council of Ministers´ meeting this afternoon had decided to amend the Judicial Council Act, 2047 BS and thereby present an Ordinance on the same before the President for endorsement.
