Organizing a press conference at the APF headquarters in Halchowk APF Additional Inspector General of Police Thakur Mohan Shrestha informed that the tournament will feature matches in four categories -- men´s singles, women´s singles, men´s doubles and veteran´s open. The veteran´s open will be held in four different age groups -- above 35years, 45years, 55years and 65 years.

“Soon after the establishment of the organization, the APF has given high priority to the sports sector and to support the development of sports the APF Sports Club was established on November 11, 2009,” Shrestha said. “We have also been able to produce national players in football, volleyball, athletics and others,” he added.
A single player will not be allowed to participate in more than two events. The total cash prize of the tournament is Rs 210,000.The winners and the runners-up of the men´s singles and women´s singles events will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 40,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.
Likewise, the winners and the runners-up of the men´s doubles category will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 (15,000 x 2) and Rs 15,000 (7,500 x 2) each.
