Addressing an event marking ´child and youth finance celebration - global money week (March 15 to 21)´, organized here on Thursday, Khatiwada said NRB has put access to finance as its first priority. [break]
According to a statement issued on Thursday, the event was organized by NRB.
"Social and economic development go hand in hand once we ensure access to finance all over the country," the statement quotes Khatiwada as saying.
Additionally, Khatiwada said NRB was working on launching a new program -- NRB with Students -- aiming to increase the access to finance, as per the statement. "It is necessary to have financial awareness from an early age," Khatiwada said, according to the statement. "The program´s objective will be to minimize, if not possible, to eliminate, financial crimes in the country."
The event was attended by people from different walks of life, including students and children.
"NRB is also working on reshaping the financial inclusion architecture in the country," Khatiwada said at the event.
