Gajurel said that they had already received a letter from HLPC but they won´t sit for talks as the HLPC has set conditions. “We will not sit for talk if there are conditions”, Gajurel said.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday at Phidim, Panchthar, he said, “They (four parties represented in HLPC) have called us for dialogue, just to get us to join the ´so called dramatic´ November polls,” he said stating that it was meaningless to hold talks just for the sake of participating in the elections. Gajurel further said that they will not join the Constituent Assembly (CA) poll under the present circumstances. [break]
“Until and unless the presidential move regarding in the formation of the current government, 11-point and 25-point agreements are scrapped, we will not sit for any dialogue,” he added. He claimed that CA polls will not held on the scheduled date of November 19. “Our cadres are ready to challenge the security forces at the polling booths,” warned Gajurel stating that government should hold a ´meaningful´ polls only after addressing the concerns of the 33-party alliance.
“Election held under present circumstances would not have any meaning because CA elected without participation of all parties will not be able to draft a new constitution.”
Meanwhile, speaking to a press meet in Surkhet on Thursday CPN-Maoist Secretary Netra Bikram Chand warned the government against holding the elections unilaterally. “We will shed blood if the government holds elections in November by ignoring our concerns,” said Chand, adding that government was forcing them to resort to an armed insurrection.
