No resignation any time soon: PM

SURKHET, Dec 16: At a time when leaders from opposition parties are setting precondition of PM’s resignation for the national consensus, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai here in Surkhet reiterated not to step down any time soon.



Talking to reporters at Surkhet Airport on Sunday, he said that he will not step down just because the opposition parties are demanding so. He further questioned, “Does any prime minister elected from the parliament step down when there is no legislature?”[break]



Saying that holding elections in April–May next year is essential to end the ongoing political crisis, Prime Minister said, “All the sides should cooperate with the government to proceed ahead by amending election-related laws and constitutional provisions for the elections.”
