Dinesh Khatiwada, Birtamod branch manager of NIC Bank, handed over a check for Rs 17,000 to Urao amid a program at Adarsha Higher Secondary School in Ittabhatta, Jhapa. The amount will be utilized to meet collage fee, uniform, books and stationery expenses of Urao.
NIC foundation has also extended scholarship to 12 students of Shree Bal Kalyan School located in Yamdi Hemja-1, Kaski. The foundation has been providing scholarship to those students since 2008/09. Dipendra Sharma, NIC Bank branch manager in Pokhara, handed over the scholarship, adds the statement.
NIC Bank has been fulfilling its social responsibilities through the foundation, mainly focusing on areas like health and education.
It has been providing scholarships to differently-abled, orphans and poor students, organizing free health checkups and eye surgical camps, among others, apart from supporting constructions of rural roads, old age homes and orphanages.
