"Branchless banking aids in encapsulating the local population into the financial mainstream by extending the banking outreach and by creating ease of access to the unbanked and under-banked population segment," the bank said in the statement. The statement further said branchless banking through biometric POS and debit card is well equipped to provide most of the retail banking services including cash deposit by self and third party and withdrawal, fund transfers, bill payments and purchase of recharge PINs.
