BIRATNAGAR, July 16: Nepali Congress (NC) central working committee (CWC) member Pradip Giri said on Monday that the new government should be formed under the leadership of a non-political figure.

Speaking at an interaction program in Biratnagar, Giri said, “The political parties should forge consensus on picking new prime minister through an all-party round table conference.” [break]

He said a renowned personality from civil society would be an ideal person to lead the country next and insisted that the dissolved Constituent Assembly (CA) should not be reinstated, at any cost.

Similarly, Giri said the CA got dissolved as the leaders of major political parties only focused on making a new constitution suitable to themselves. He also stressed on going for fresh elections of CA.

Likewise, he argued that the former king is recently becoming ambitious about his return to the throne largely because the leaders have failed to deliver on the people´s expectations.

He, however, ruled out any possibility of royal comeback in the existing changed scenario. “After the king was dethroned, the leaders became power-centric. Now the people should take the power in hand,” he opined.
