The police suspect that the victim might have been murdered as the lunch prepared was found strewn all over the floor and the bed tousled. “We cannot confirm if it´s a murder as she only has a minor nose injury,” said Police Inspector Makendra Mishra of Area Police Office, Haripur in Sarlahi.
Following the death of his wife, Ramkishun Mahato is at large. “It has further added to the mystery,” added Mishra.
Locals of Patharkot VDC further claim that she must have been murdered by her husband.
Meanwhile, Ghuchiya Devi, mother of the deceased, said, Ramkishun had illicit relations and he must have killed Mamata as he often beat her after consuming alcohol.
Locals said Ramkishun had married Mamata after his first wife committed suicide along with her son and daughter a year ago.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
