New polls after 'meaningful' consensus: Thapa

DHANKUTA, Sept 23: Chairman of Rastriya Janashakti Party Surya Bahadur Thapa on Sunday stressed on forging a meaning understanding among political parties and then going for fresh elections.



Speaking to media persons in his home district, Dhankuta, the former prime minister said the new constitution has to be promulgated settling disputes related to its drafting through consensus and, after that, the country should go for new parliamentary polls. [break]



Thapa also said there is an urgent need of an alliance among democratic forces in the country, arguing that such front is required to maintain a balance between progressive and pro-royalist forces, which he said have dominated Nepal’s contemporary political scenario.
