DADELDHURA, Jan 19: With the construction of a new building, Team Hospital (TH) in Dadeldhura district is all set to become the most advanced and well-equipped hospital in the far western region.

The new building that sprawls in an area of 37500 square feet will have 60 beds -- 10 for child patients, 15 for maternity care, 17 for medical, eight for surgery and five for communicable diseases, among others. TH, currently run by the government and Human Development and Community Service (HDCS), is also planning to extend its services once the new building is constructed. [break]

The government has allocated Rs 30 million for the 50 million construction project. The rest of the budget has been provided by various donor agencies.

“Locals will no longer need to go outside the far west region for treatment once the new building is constructed,” said Ganesh Shreshtha, record chief at TH. “We will have as many as nine specialist doctors in the new hospital.”

Set up in 1966 initially for treatment of leprosy patients, TH will be run by the government once the new building is constructed. Three years back, the government had involved HDCS in running TH.
