Rabi shot two over 74, while Thapa Magar produced the best card of the day with two under 70 on the second day to share the second position with the total score of 147.
Ramesh Nagarkoti, also from RNGC, was fourth at 148 after the second round score of even-par 72. Three pros Sabin Sapkota of Dharan, Umesh Nagarkoti of RNGC and defending champion Rupak Acharya of Gokarna shared the fifth position with six-over 150.
While Sapkota shot five-over 77, Nagarkoti played a round of three-over 75 and Acharya managed two-over 74 on the second day.
Overnight leader Shiva Ram Shrestha fell down to eighth position after a disastrous round of eight-over 80 for a total of 152. Surya Prasad Sharma was ninth at 154, while Tham Bahadur Rai and Ramesh Adhikari were tied for the 10th position at 155.
Others who made the cut, applied after the second round, are Krishna Man Rajbahak, Pashupati Sharma, Rajan Thapa, CB Bhandari, Sanjay Lama, Ram Thapa, Mani Rai, Jaya Ram Shrestha, Sachin Bhattarai and Ram Krishna Shrestha.
In the Amateur section, Tashi Tsering opened up a five-stroke lead over fellow Gokarna amateur Wanchen Dhondup. Tsering shot five-over 77 for a total of 152, while Dhondup carded 78 for a total of 157.
Others who made the cut in amateur section are Dipendra Rayamajhi, Jeevan Rai, Rabin Rana, Ashish Pariyar and Bikash Bogati.
The winning pro will receive Rs 80,000 while runner-up will get Rs 51,000.
