All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association (ANLTA) President Manoj Rana bade farewell to the team, which includes six players (three boys and three girls) and three officials, at the Satdobato Tennis Complex, Lalitpur.[break]
Sakchhyam Karki, Samrakshak Bhushan Bajracharya and Pranav Khanal will represent Nepal in the U-14 boys´ category while Bibhuti Karki, Bijisha Shrestha and Mayanka Rana will play in the U-14 girls´ section. They will play both singles and doubles matches.
The Nepali team is heading for the championships under the leadership of ANLTA Vice President Jyoti Rana while Renu Devi Konda is the coach and Krishna Raj Ghale is the team manager.
The participating players were picked up through a competitive selection held from December 25-27 at the Satdobato Tennis Complex.
Nepal first appeared in this competition in 1998 and has been participating regularly since the last five years.
Nepal´s achieved the highest feat during the championships seven years ago when Ramesh Karki climbed to Division 1 with his outstanding spell in the second-tier competition.
