Nepal urges Maoist for consensus

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Senior leader of the CPN UML Madhav Kumar Nepal urged the UCPN (Maoist) to come in line of political consensus if it was committed for the national consensus.



Inaugurating the Third Human Rights National Conference organized by the National Human Rights Alliance on Sunday, he stressed that the nation should not be made the prisoner of indecision in the name of political consensus.[break]



UML leader Nepal said the legal actions and punishment against the cases of violation of human rights were minimal and that stern action in such cases should be taken.



During the program, NC leader Ram Sharan Mahat, and CPN-Maoist leader Ekraj Bhandari, among others, expressed best wishes for the success of the three-day long conference.
