Nepal elected to IOM body

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Nepal has been elected as one of the members to the Executive Committee of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for the second term from 2010-2012.



According to Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, the just concluded 98th Session of IOM council took this decision. Nepal was a member of the Executive Committee from 2008-2009. The committee has 32 members elected from its 127 members.



IOM, established in 1951, is committed to the principle that human and orderly migration benefits migrants and society.
