KATHMANDU, Feb 11: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a graft case at the Special Court against former assistant manager of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Dhurba Kumar Uprety accusing him of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income by misusing his authority.

In the chargesheet filed at the court on Thursday, the anti-graft body has accused Uprety of abusing his authority to amass property through illegal means during his tenure.
The CIAA has asked the court to recoup Rs 41.8 million from Uprety and sought a maximum sentence for the accused. Likewise, it has also asked the court to seize the properties Uprety assembled illegally while in office.
