MANANG, March 6: Tek Bahadur Gurung of Nepali Congress secured a victory from Manang in the House of Representatives election held on Thursday. Gurung collected 2,415 votes to emerge victorious.
Chief Election Officer at the District Election Office, Ram Prasad Paudel informed that Gurung, who had been leading the vote count from the very beginning, was announced victorious. His nearest rival from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Yashoda Subedi Gurung, received 454 votes. Similarly, Ram Bahadur Gurung (Nawin) of the Mangal National Organization got 9 votes.
Quake victims find green pastures in Manang
Manang, having a single constituency, recorded 54.80 percent voter turnout. There were a total of 7,000 voters listed for the election.
District election officer Jiwan Kunwar said the number of invalid votes was 45.
