NCC, Xavier Int'l set up title clash

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Nepal Commerce Campus (NCC) and Xavier International College won their respective semifinal matches on Friday to set up the title clash in the ongoing Akhil Cup Inter-college Football Tournament at the Dasharath Stadium.



Xavier International College had a hard fought 1-0 win over Patan Multiple College while NCC earned a 5-4 sudden death victory over Golden Gate College. [break]



Bibhushan KC scored the solitary goal in the 15th minute to send Patan crashing out. But the teams created some good moves in the match.



In another match, NCC and Golden Gate played a goalless draw in the regular time and added time.



Thomson Bhusal, Mahendra Chaudhary and Bijaya Tamang converted the spot kicks for NCC while Siddhi Shrestha and Saroj Dahal missed.



Shiva Shrestha, Sujal Shrestha and Rupesh KC scored for Golden Gate. Rabi Thapa and Naresh Pokharel missed the target.



In the sudden death, Niresh Dulal and Gautam Deula converted their shots into goals for NCC while Bishal Rai failed to score for Golden Gate.



The final and the third place playoff matches will be played on Saturday.
