The group shot at Mandal, 50, while he was sleeping in his house in Singyahi-8 of Mahottari district. Mandal received one shot to his chest and has been taken to Dharan after treatment was not possible at Janakpur Zonal Hospital, District Police Office, Mahottari said.
Meanwhile, Madhesi Mukti Morcha has taken responsibility for the incident. The Morcha said a group led by its commander Barsha shot at Mandal.
