KATHMANDU, June 21: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala said on Thursday that his party would fight against the bid to go for new elections. The government has called fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) polls for November 22.

Speaking at a program in the capital, the NC president said the government has announced the new elections going against constitutional norms and politics of consensus.

He also stressed on the implementation of the five-point agreement, earlier agreed among the three major political parties and Madhesi parties, for resolution of the current political crisis.

He also said elements bent on annihilating an ideology that advocates for nationality, democracy and socialism, will one day exterminate itself.
